How to Enable Investigational Devices

EEGer is compatible with a wide variety of EEG amplifiers. Some of these devices are labelled as ‘Experimental’ devices within the software. New versions of the EEGer software have support for these devices enabled by default, but older versions of the software require an option to be toggled on for experimental devices to be configurable.

To turn on support for experimental devices, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Options>EEGer Configuration Options from the top toolbar of the software’s main display.
  2. Locate the Special tab, then enable option 5 Allow investigational devices.
  3. Press Close preferences window at the bottom of the menu to apply changes and return to EEGer’s main screen.
  4. Reconnect the EEG amplifier to the computer, then close and reopen the software.
  5. The amplifier should now be selectable within the options menu if needed, or automatically configured by the software.
